About Clervaux

 

Clervaux is a spacious cottage situated in beautiful countryside with stunning views of the surrounding scenery. The cottage is located approximately 1 mile from Rothbury and has just recently been renovated by an award-winning architect. The cottage will accommodate 4-6 people.

Inside the house

Ground floor

  • Front entrance porch leading to hallway with under stair cupboard.

  • Lounge with wood burning-stove, TV, DVD player, VHS recorder.

  • Utility area with washing machine, central heating boiler and door to garden, with WC off.

  • Double bedroom with built in wardrobe, en-suite wet room with WC.

  • Single bed room with built in wardrobe and TV. (If required another temporary bed can be put up but its a bit of a squash!)

  • Bath room with WC and over bath shower.

  • Travel cot available on request.

  • A good sized garden, with summer house to the rear.

  • Parking for one vehicle at the front of the cottage and additional parking nearby.

Things to do

Walking in the magnificent local countryside around Lordenshaw and Simonside. There are also splendid walks around Alwinton up the Coquet Valley.

  • Fishing – permits available in Rothbury

  • Swimming – public baths at Rothbury (new in 2006), Morpeth and Alnwick.

  • Golf - 18 hole golf course nearby

  • Cragside House & grounds (National Trust); Wallington Hall & grounds (National Trust)

  • Metro Centre

  • Beamish Open Air Museum (County Durham)

  • Alnwick Castle and Garden

Coastal Villages: Bamburgh (castle), Craster (fishing village), Newton-by-the-Sea unspoilt bay), Holy Island – check tide times.

For up to date details of events in the area, visit Rothbury Tourist Information Centre next to the market cross. In Rothbury, you will also find a good range of shops and pubs. The Co-op supermarket is open 8.30am to 10pm daily Monday to Sunday.
